Police Public Meeting in Border Villages

As a part of COP (Community Oriented Policing Police), Amritsar Police organised police public meets in the border villages of Cheecha and Bhakhna. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Amritsar District Police Chief, himself visited in these villages and addressed the people of the area. He listened to the grievances of common people. Most of the grievances were redressed on the spot. He also apprised the residents about ‘Community Oriented Policing’ especially Village Beat System. The Beat officers of the adjoining villages were asked to present their views and also about their roles and responsibilities. The Beat officers will visit every Wednesday and Saturday in their respective village Beats.
Inspector Sukhwinder Singh, SHO of Gharinda Police Station, also addressed the gathering where all the village chiefs and common citizens were present. SSP Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh asked the residents to strengthen the Village Peace Committees with the help of the police.
