Kunwar spoke on Moral and Ethical Values

Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh spoke on Moral and Ethical Values for professionals in the IET Bhaddal (Ropar) during a national seminar organised by the institute. This seminar was organised by the institute in collaboration with PTU (Punjab Technical University) Jalandhar in which noted academicians expressed their views. Prominent among them were Bibi Inderjeet Kaur of Pingalwara charitable society, Amritsar, Dr. AP Singh from PTU Jalandhar, Er HR Singla from Lovely Professional University and Dr. HR Verma Principal cum Director of the institute.
Kunwar Vijay Pratap elaborated on various issues connected with the topic and described various quotes from Shri Guru Granth Sahib, Saint Kabir and Kautilya Arthashastra. He stressed upon transparency in the services rendered by the professionals in the interest of the society and the people in general.

Cyber Crime Investigation Wing for Punjab

Punjab Police has recently set up a state level Cyber Crime Investigation Cell. This Cell has been notified as cyber crime police station with the jurisdiction of the entire state of Punjab where any kind of FIR can be registered under various provisions of IT Act and related laws.
This cell is located at SAS Nagar, Mohali. People from any part of Punjab can get their FIR registered in this police station by visiting there or sending their complaints through e-mail (policehelp100@gmail.com, ssp.cyber-pb@ nic.in). People can lodge complaints related with data theft, e-mail travel, e-mail threat, extortion and cheating through internet, bank and credit card frauds, hacking, fishing etc.
Besides, a state level crime police station has also been notified with the jurisdiction of the entire state of Punjab with a view to investigate specialized crimes especially related with scams and major frauds.
Both these police stations will work under the ADGP Crime Punjab. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has been given the charge of SSP of Crime Branch, Punjab who will supervise all the Cyber Crime Investigations and cases related with specialized crimes.
The state crime branch of Punjab was inaugurated on 9th April 2011 by Honorable Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. The function was presided over by Shri PS Gill DGP Punjab where presentations were made by the ADGP Crime Shri Sanjeev Gupta. The function was attended by senior officers of Punjab Police and members of community at large.

Kunwar Awarded Ph. D. in Police Administration

Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has been awarded Ph.D. in Police Administration by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. This degree was conferred upon him during 37th annual convocation held in the University on the 1st of March 2011.
The officer conducted his research on the ‘Human Rights of Prisoners’ under the supervision of Prof. R.S.Sandhu of GNDU. The focus of this study was various alarming issues concerned with prison conditions, overcrowding and problems of undertrials with special emphasis on the delay in the disposal of cases. At this occasion GNDU awarded 711 degrees and medals in various disciplines including Ph.D, M.Phil., MBA, M.Tech., MCA, LL.M., M.Lib., MBE., M.Com., M.Sc., M.A., B.Tech., B.Sc., BCA, LL.B., B.Lib. etc..
This function was attended by Nobel Laureates Prof. (Dr.) Richard R. Ernst and Prof. Alexander Pines who were conferred with the Degree of D.Sc. Honorary Causa. Prof. Dalip Kaur Tiwana the leading Punjabi Novelist and creative writer in Punjabi was also honoured with D.Litt. (Honoris Causa) keeping in view her contributions in the field of Punjabi Language and Literature. The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. A. S. Brar congratulated all the awardees and prize winners.

Kunwar Vijay Pratap honoured for outstanding performance

In a state level function held at 82nd Battalion PAP Chandigarh Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was honoured by Dy. Chief Minister Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal for his excellent performance in policing. ADGP SK Sharma and DGP PS Gill were also present at this occasion besides other senior police officers. Other police officers of various ranks from district police as well as Punjab Armed Police were also felicitated on the occasion for good performance.
Before this assignment the officer has had a successful stint of more than two years as District Police Chief of Amritsar where he earned appreciation from all quarters especially from the common people of Amritsar at large. He is known for his pro-community and anti-criminal approach. On earlier occasions, he has been honoured with the prestigious Baba Farid Award for Honesty in 2004, IVF (India Vision Foundation) Award for Jail Reforms in 2006 and AHIRA( All India Human Rights Association ) award in 2009.

Annual convocation at Punjab Police Academy



Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was honoured by H.E. Governor Shri Shivraj V. Patil during the annual convocation held at PPA Phillaur. He was felicitated for outstanding academic endeavor during the service as he earned PGDHRM (Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management) from IGNOU with first division.
Besides, this he has also completed PhD in Police Administration from GNDU Amritsar in 2010. He is also pursuing LL.B. from Panjab University, Chandigarh. The officer irrespective of his place of posting has been in constant touch with academics which gives him capabilities to perform his duties in a more proficient manner.
